East Beach Circle of The King's Daughters is one of 54 Circles, supporting the kids at CHKD. Circles are groups of women that range in size from 6 to 50 members; each of which have one goal in common – to ensure that the children of the region continue to receive the best medical care possible and to make CHKD the best it can be. To achieve this goal, Circles have fundraisers throughout the year. The East Beach Plein Air Art Escape has been the largest fundraising event of the East Beach Circle since it started in 2015.
The third annual Plein Air Art Escape was a huge success, raising almost $16,000 for Children’s Hospital of the King’s Daughters (“CHKD”). The CHKD East Beach Circle organized the event which was held in East Beach over April 13-15. Twenty of the top plein air artists on the East coast came to paint the Tidewater area to help the Circle raise money for the kids.
The funds donated are earmarked to benefit the Behavorial Health Program planned for CHKD. The King’s Daughters has pledged to raise $1 million for this worthy and very needed cause. For more information, visit www.kingsdaughters.org
